In my VCA audition we were tasked with physicalising an impossible task, like sitting on a cloud or wrapping our arms around the moon.
Young, sweaty and oh-so-eager to please I threw myself into it. A teacher came up behind me and said quietly, ‘we know you want to be here. You don’t have to prove it.’
Ten years on I’m still trying to learn that lesson.
Creating this work in less than seven months has been close-to an impossible task. It was only possible because of the people I mention above.
